Hundred Percent And Running

San Andreas is all mine. Just finished the XBOX version of GTA: San Andreas. This is the second time I've completed the game, but this time I went through and did every little thing I could to achieve a 100% rating.

    GTA:SA Stats
  • Total Time Played: 93 hours, 19 minutes
  • Time Passed In Game: 369 days
  • Legitimate Kills: 4856
  • Money Earned: $24 Million
  • Bullets Hit/Fired: 32170/46031 (69.89% accuracy)

Rawk! I got game.

Tasty iPod Goodness

So playing with the Nano has lead me to a lot of iPod tastiness.

    Useful Software
  • Anapod - Anapod is a great tool for managing your iPod. It lets you transfer music in and out of your iPod, and gives you control over playlists, photos, et cetera. Affordable, and decently featured. It doesn't presently manage the Podcasts smart playlist that is so crucial to easily enjoying your podcasts.
  • Yamipod - Similar to Anapod, but simpler. It does music transfers. It plays directly from the iPod. It does tagging, and more. Two things make it more interesting than iPod: it is completely free, and it is a single executable file that you can run from the iPod itself. Very cool.
  • Juice Receiver - A great RSS/podcast reader/receiver. I like it a great deal. It will even put them into iTunes. It won't manage the Podcasts smart playlist, but maybe with some luck it will one day.
    Podcasts
  • Tartan Podcast - Scottish music. Good stuff.
  • The Ricky Gervais Podcast - Ricky, Stephen Merchant, and their "pal" Karl Pilkington. Hilarity in podcast form.
  • Electronic Periodic - Great podcast of a mix of independent electronic music. Very enjoyable.
  • Indie Feed - There are different genre Indie Feeds. One song per cast. Interesting stuff, but not as enjoyable as Electronic Periodic.
  • Science Friday Podcast - Nearly every bit of broadcast from Science Friday on NPR is published as a broadcast.
  • WGBH Morning Story - Another slice of NPR goodness.
  • Some interesting podcasts: Fetish Flame, Rope Weekly, Kinky Sex Radio, Open Source Sex.

Swamped. Buried. Overwhelmed. But I Have A Nano.

Between the holidays, work, and just generally being busy, I haven't had time to do much of anything online. Oh yeah, and the Nano has been destroying what little time I had on my computer. Argh, this thing is frustratingly cool and makes you spend hours upon hours seeking out new and interesting things to pour into your ears.

The holidays were lovely. We got to see family and friends. We spent a lot of time playing with the new Nanos. Most importantly we got to see folks we don't usually get to see that often. Mark and Carolyn (not that they live out of town, just that we don't see them). Vynce was his usually odd and enjoyable self. We got to see Anita and Alan not once but twice, which was delightful.

Work was busy throughout the holidays, and got really busy the first two weeks of the new year. This past week was full of SAN changes I'd been planning for months. Nearly all of it went successfully. We did have a lot of issues, but we were able to work through most of them. Unfortunately, on the last and biggest day of work, we hit a brick wall we couldn't work around. I had to halt that phase of the changes for a week or two until we got afew bits of hardware that were missed in the planning, but otherwise all of the changes went ahead without impact to production operations. A major win. And I learned a hell of a lot in the process.
