Loving Computing Again

It has been very nice of late, loving computing again. I must admit the macs have reinvigorated my techno-lust. I think it is due to the learning-something-new aspect of them, combined with the fact that I get such a pleasant computing experience with UNIX underneath.

One of the best bits is dropping to Terminal...whether it be to run a looped command over a series of files, or whether it is to compile a piece of software. I've even started learning the D language finally after all these years. I've always been intrigued by it, but I just never bothered.

I very much like D. It feels like C, but easier. Which is probably part of the intent. I intend to write some more code in it beyond the simple language-learning programs I've written so far. Maybe if more people use it it will gain ground.

The Change Continues

So I've been switched for a week now. The macbook is very sexy. The interface is amazing. I must admit that I am in love with technology for the first time in a long time.

The unified interface is cool. I like the developer tools. The dashboard and cool widgets are great (I'm posting from a widget in the dashboard right now!). I've found a lot of equivalent freeware for the various things I do. I love the payware I've bought so far (Aperture is amazing!).

Tomorrow I break open the new 24" Imac. Sexy.
